The machinery should work underneath.

Crypto created global, programmable money that can move around the world in seconds. Its human interface still exposes too much of the machinery. Nearby starts somewhere small and specific: the person standing next to you.

Wallet addresses were designed for blockchains, not for people.

They’re long, hard to recognise, easy to paste incorrectly, and disconnected from the physical moment of a payment. If you’re standing next to someone and want to send them $20, the question shouldn’t be “what’s your wallet address?” It should be “who am I sending this to?”

The blockchain should handle addresses, networks, routing and settlement. The person paying shouldn’t have to. The best consumer products hide infrastructure without hiding what matters — and before you sign, what matters is who, what and how much.

The person should be the interface.
The wallet address should be infrastructure.

The next generation of crypto applications might feel less like blockchain and more like the products people already understand. Tap. Send. Confirm. Done.

Proximity is
the starting point.

A restaurant table. A coworker. Someone at an event. A seller you’re meeting in person. Physical proximity already tells you who you mean — so instead of identifying a payment destination with a string of characters, Nearby lets you identify the person.

The same sending experience could one day reach further: split bills, payment requests, trusted contacts, checkout. But the first use case stays simple. Someone is standing next to you, and you want to send them crypto. There should be a button.

Built for
Robinhood Chain.

Nearby is being designed exclusively for Robinhood Chain. One network means no network decisions for anyone involved — the recipient’s preferences describe what they can receive, and every payment settles in the same place. The chain is infrastructure, not the brand: you shouldn’t have to think about it to pay a friend.
